At the time of writing this post, I am taking a brief sabbatical from my 2026 quest to re-read the Warriors series. I first read this series when I was in elementary school. It re-entered my life in December 2025 when I entered the Kids section of Barnes & Noble in search of books for my nephew and niece who are 12 and 10 years old. I wanted to gift them books that I read (and loved) when I was their ages and for my nephew, that was Life of Pi and for my niece, the first book of the Warriors series. I noticed then that there were far more books in the series than what I remember when I was making my way through them as a 10-year old! I concluded that my memory of the series was just blurry enough that I wouldn't feel bored re-reading them. So after buying the two books for my family, I placed a hold at my libarry for the first two books in the Warriors series. That started a 4-5 day cycle of reading each book of the series end-to-end, finding insights in the book that 10-year old Teja didn't pick up on, and generally finding entertainment in the happenings of the Clan cats.
As I mentioned at the beginning of this post though, I hit pause on my Warriors reading habit and am currently reading A Guardian and a Thief by Megha Majumdar.
